March 9, 1916- Letter to T. J. Greening, Appleby, Texas from Liverman & Pollock, Mansfield, La, Attorneys at Law

Dear Mr. Greening:

Your favor of the 27th ultimo to hand and contents carefully noted, but have been delayed in answering as I wanted to get the exact date the case would be set for trial, that is, the sand bar suit.  We have had the sand bar fixed for trial next Thursday, March 16th, and since you are one of our best witnesses we want you to come over Sunday night as we want to go over Monday and look over the sand bar again and refresh your memory on some points where you appear at variance with some of the other witnesses.

The court over ruled the exception of no cause of action filed in this suit, and it looks mighty good to us now.

As to the river washing in the wells across the river on the Edenborn lease, one or two of the wells were damaged by the water, but I don't think they were ruined.

Please let me hear from you whether or not you can come over Sunday night, in order that you may go with us early Monday morning to the sand bar, as we want to look it over carefully. The case will be tried in Shreveport on Thursday, March 16th, as above stated.

With kind regards and best wishes, we are

Yours very truly,

Liverman & Pollock

We have been unable to try any other of the cases on account of sickness of one of the attys.

Dear Sir:

Replying to your favor of the 5th instant, would say that we were glad to hear that your children have recovered from the measles and doing nicely.

Would say that, owing to the fact of Thigpen & Herold, attorneys for Natalie Oil Company, not being in position to try the case and the further fact that you could not be over here, the matter has gone over.

I enclose you herewith, copy of letter to Thipen & Herold requesting them to fix the case for trial for week after next and we will advise you if fixed for trial.

With every good wish and kind regards, we remain
