This indenture made this 26th day of March, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and thirty-one, between James Williams, Abner C. Mobley & Lawrence M. Brunson of the County of Dallas and State of Alabama, of the one part, and John J. Greening, of the same State and County, of the other part, Witnesseth, whereas by an order or decree of the county court of Dallas County, in the State aforesaid, bearing date the 8th November, 1830, the above named James Williams, Abner C. Mobley & Lawrence M. Brunson were appointed commissioners and authorized to sell and dispose of the real estate of  JOHN GREENING, late of Sumter District, South Carolina, dec'd. for the purpose of effecting an equal division of  the estate among the heirs of the said John Greening and to ___ the administrators  of said Estate to settle the just demands against the said Estate- That in pursuance of the said order or decree of the county court of the county of Dallas the said James Williams, Abner C. Mobley & Lawrence M. Brunson did on the ___ day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-one sell and dispose of to the above named John J. Greening  W 1/2 NE 1/4 W 1/2 SE 1/4, E1/2 SW 1/4and E 1/2 of NW 1/4 of Section No. 26, Township No. 15, of Range No. 7 containing in all three hundred seventeen and 50/100 acres lying and being situated in the county of Dallas and State aforesaid at and for the sum of two thousand dollars, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, and the said James Williams, Abner C. Mobley & Lawrence M. Brunson have agreed to execute these presents.  Now, the said indenture witnesseth that the said James Williams, Abner C. Mobley & Lawrence M. Brunson, in consideration of the above mentioned premises and also of $1.00 to them in hand paid by the said John J. Greening, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain, grant and sell unto the said John J. Greening, his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract of land lying, and being in Dallas County and known as the W 1/2 NE 1/4 W 1/2 SE 1/4 E 1/2 SW 1/4 and E 1/2 of NW 1/4 of Section No. 26, T/S  No. 15, Range No. 7, containing in all three hundred and seventeen 51/100 acres,  to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land above described and premises with every of the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said John J. Greening his heirs, and assigns forever to his and their only proper use and behoof and for no other use, intent or purpose whatever.
In witness where of we the said  Williams, Mobley & Brunson have hereunto set our hands and Seal the day and date above written.

Rogers, one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing deed,  who being duly sworn deposeth in saith that he saw the above names A. B. Mobley, James Williams and L. M. Brunson, whose names are hereto subscribed sign seal and deliver the same on the day and year therein named; that he subscribed his name thereto in presence of said Mobley, Brunson & Williams and that he saw John P. Blann and Matthew McMillan the other  witnesses  subscribe the same in presence of said Brunson, Mobley & Williams and in presence of each other on the day and year herein named.  Given under my hand and Seal at office, this 8th day of April, 1831.  Signed: James D.
