Marriage Bond #49
Lunenburg County, Virginia

      Know all men by these presents that we Benjamin Whitehead
and Phillip Goode of the County of Lunenburg are held and firmly bound unto our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God in the sum of fifty Pounds, Current Money to be paid to our said Lord the King, his Heirs, and Successors to (the) which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our Heirs, Exors & Administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents.  Sealed with our Seals and Dated this 31st day of March, 1761.

The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage suddenly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Benjamin Whitehead and Elizabeth Swepstone, the Daughter of Richard Swepstone.

If therefore there be no lawful cause to obstruct the same then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force.
